Programme
What's Included
Every student's timetable is built from the same core of tuition, coaching and ensemble playing.
- One-To-One Tuition — 6 hours
- Chamber music coaching — 6 sessions, 45 minutes each
- String orchestra, or piano masterclasses & workshops — 8 sessions
- Violin & cello ensembles — 6 sessions, 30 minutes each
- Chamber choir (non-compulsory) — 8 sessions, 30 minutes each
On the two days without chamber ensemble, mornings are masterclasses and workshops, and afternoons are informal students' concerts.
Facilities
All sessions run in a specialist music school environment.
- Full use of the teaching and practice facilities at Wells Cathedral School
- Rehearsal, lessons and informal students’ concerts in the historic medieval Quilter Hall
- A closing Student Gala Concert in the state-of-the-art Cedars Concert Hall, with Steinway grand piano
- Gardens and lawns, playgrounds, outdoor resting areas and indoor lounges
- Video recordings of every student performance, available after the course
- For some students, the chance to rehearse and perform alongside the faculty
- Free WiFi

The school is two minutes' walk from the centre of Wells, with its shops, cafés, the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace.
